about
Golem is the name of Mirage's first single, a song with strong sludge/doom influences.
The Golem of Prague is a jewish myth, telling the story of a wise rabbi who created and gave life to a statue to fulfill his designs, it´s the first tale starring a man creating a sentient being, which serves as the precedent for the idea of robots and cyborgs.
The drums and vocals have been recorded by students and Mirage at IES La Guancha, and the rest was self-recorded by Mirage during the first months of 2020.
It's meant to be part of Mirage's first EP, a conceptual work about the development of the myths and culture on human interaction.
lyrics
LYRICS
His forehead shows his servant fate
The man became the Maker, and Golem is now his slave
And as the stars remain in their place
The Golem proceeds with no hesitate
Compel the magic words
Seven circles around the Earth
And the words written on the scroll
Will be orders to this hulk of slush
And by that time, the pawn revolts
The stars turned auspicious no more
To lose control is the Maker’s nightmare
To find their will is the Creature’s bane
Repeal the magic words
Undo the circles around the Earth
Taint the creature’s magic scroll
To remove the Golem’s breath
